We have entered our busy season, baseball season. This means we are constantly on the go and dinner time can be a problem some nights. If I was being honest, I would tell you that on those busy nights, we rely on take out. But this season I have vowed to skip the drive thru!

One of our go-to meals is Chinese food. It’s quick and everyone likes it. So, I decided to shake things up and make some of our favorites at home. This Pork Egg Roll in a Bowl is a great way to enjoy your favorite Chinese takeout egg rolls at home!

Smithfield Fresh Pork is so versatile, the possibilities are endless – all it takes is a little change to add a lot of flavor, any night of the week. Since fresh pork is so versatile, you can easily swap out chicken or beef for pork! It’s a great way to take a family favorite and make it new! Smithfield Fresh Pork is available at your local Weis, and select grocery stores nationwide.

Made from 100% fresh pork with no artificial ingredients, Smithfield Fresh Pork comes in a variety of cuts, including boneless loins, chops, tenderloins, roasts, ribs, and ground pork, as well as an assortment of pre-marinated flavors, such as Roasted Garlic & Herb, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Sweet Teriyaki, and more.

For my Pork Egg Roll in a Bowl, I used the Smithfield Applewood Smoked Bacon Marinated Fresh Pork Loin Filet. The smoky, sweet flavor added a great punch to the tangy coleslaw. By using the Smithfield Applewood Smoked Bacon Marinated Fresh Pork Loin Filet, I took flavors that my kids know and love, to pair with the bold Asian notes.

We topped our egg roll with hoisin sauce and green onions to balance all of the flavors.  Simple, delicious, and a little more guilt-free! What do you think of this “Egg Roll In A Bowl”?

Tips for making Pork Egg Roll in a Bowl:

  • To save even more time, cook and shred your pork loin ahead of time. You can make your pork loin the day before and reheat in the skillet.
  • If you are missing the crunch of the egg roll wrapper, you can add wonton noodles to your pork egg roll in a bowl.
