Having two young kiddos, Ialways worry about their education and if they are getting everything that they need. There are so many options out there. How do you know you picked the right one?

Earlier today, I headed to the Main Line Early Childhood Education Fair in Wayne, PA sponsored by Kimberton Waldorf School and UrbanSitter.com. At first, I was a little overwhelmed. With over a a dozen early education programs, there were plenty of places to look at. There were preschool and kindergarten programs, camps, and educational enrichment programs for children under 6.

There were a wide variety of schools and programs represented at the fair. I was mainly interested in some extra curricular programs and summer camps for Ethan to help him with the transition to Kindergarten. I definitely found that there!

One of the things we struggle with Ethan is his low self-confidence. He is a smart kid but doesn’t like to make mistakes or be wrong.  I was hoping to find a program that would help us with that. SparkPark fits the bill! SparkPark has developmentally-oriented curriculum in the arts, sciences and foreign language. They promote hands-on creativity that helps each child find their own spirit of exploration. At SparkPark, your child won’t hear any instructions that tell them to “Do it this way.”  Instead their classes, encourage children to take risks, try out new ideas and follow their curiosity to new depths. Exactly what he needs!

Another great program that I know Ethan will love is Bricks 4 Kidz! If you have a LEGO fan, you need to check this place out! Bricks 4 Kidz classes provide an extraordinary atmosphere for children, where they learn, they build, the plawith LEGO® bricks! Their programs are built around model plans, designed by engineers and architects, with exciting themes such as space, construction, and amusement parks.  Their specially designed project kits and theme-based models provide the building blocks for the Bricks 4 Kidz approach to educational play. They even do birthday parties! Jack. Pot. Ethan is already excited to check this out!

If you are looking for early education options for your child, there is another Main Line Early Childhood Fair tomorrow at the Main Line Reform Temple School. If you are looking for a sitter or nanny, UrbanSitter.com will be on site for a Milk & Cookies Mingle! Sitters will be on site for interviews. Bring the kids along for a puppet show, some crafts, and, of course, treats!
