We created our Frozen Lemonade Pops and had fun in the sun with Banana Boat as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #BestSummerEver This post may contain affiliate links to help support this wonderful blog…and my coffee addiction.

The temperatures have been climbing this past week and it feels likes summer. 90 degree weather. 100% humidity. Yup, it’s summertime in Philadelphia. While I’d rather hibernate in the A/C under a blanket, the boys want to be outside playing. Being the awesome mom that I am, I suck it up and we get outside.

While we are outside playing in this hot, sticky weather, it’s important to keep everyone hydrated. Lots of water. Lots of fruit. And lots of frozen pops!

Last week, I whipped up some frozen lemonade and had some leftover. Instead of pouring it down the drain (that would be a tragedy), I filled up our frozen pop molds for a refreshing frozen lemonade treat.

When I see the boys getting over-heated, it’s time to take a break and cool off with an ice cold glass of water and our new favorite frozen treats. I have a feeling these frozen lemonade pops are going to be a staple in our freezer all summer long.

Staying cool this summer doesn’t end with our frozen pops. I have some other essentials I keep on hand to make sure we stay cool and safe during our hot days in the sun!frozen lemonade pops-4

Water – I know this is a no brainer but it’s important to stay hydrated. Always have a water bottle on hand for everyone. Kids tend to get busy when they are out playing so make sure you make them take water breaks. I like to freeze ours the night. They will melt when you are outside playing and be super cold when you need it!

Cooling Towels – Surprisingly, I found these cooling towels at the dollar store. Just run them under water and you will have a cool towel to place on your neck.

Spray Bottle with Ice Water – Every morning, I fill up a spray bottle with water and place it in the freezer until we are ready to go outside. When we get hot, we just spray the ice cold water on ourselves to cool off.

Clip-On Umbrella: Not only will this clip-on umbrella protect you from the sun but you’ll also have the coolest seat. Whether at the beach or at the baseball field, everyone will be fighting for your chair.

Banana Boat Sport Performance Lotion Sunscreen – Ok, so I know this one doesn’t technically keep you cool but you’ll thank me when you aren’t dealing with nasty sunburn later. Banana Boat Sport Performance Lotion Sunscreen now includes Powerstay technology that locks in place to provide heavy-duty protection throughout all of your outdoor activities. It’s so powerful it stay on in 7 real life conditions — sun, pool water, ocean water, wind, sweat, sand and even 100 degree heat.
