I am making positive changes WITH THE HELP OF JIF™BARS AS PART OF A SPONSORED POST FOR SOCIALSTARS. #TEAMJIF

With the New Year  comes the resolutions. A few years ago, I gave up make resolutions and instead chose a word that would guide my year. This year, I chose the word focus. One of the things I am focusing on is making positive changes.

During the holiday season, my eating habits kinda got out of control. But that’s in the past and it’s time to focus on the now.  To start making positive changes, I took a look at my pantry. In fact, I reorganized the entire thing just so I could see what was in there. While doing this I took a look at what I had. At what foods would be good choices on a healthy eating plan. That’s how started and here is how I am going to continue.

how to make positive changes in your diet

Let’s be realistic. We all want to lose weight but I know that’s not going to happen overnight so my goals need to be small and attainable. Choosing to make good food choices will get me there and here is how I’m doing it.

Eat breakfast every day. There are days when I look at the clock at 11:30 am and realize all I have had was two cups of coffees. I know this is bad for you but our mornings are hectic and and the time flies! Now, I am making the positive change to eat breakfast by having quick meal ideas on hand.

My latest favorite? Jif™Bars! Jif™Bars Chocolate Bars are packed with protein which is just what I need to get me through the day. They are made with the Jif peanut butter I know and love. Plus, they are handy enough that I can eat them while sitting in the drop-off lane.

Cut out the junk! One of the easiest ways for me to drop a few pounds is to cut out junk, soda to be exact. Starting January 1st, I made a conscience decision to not buy myself anymore soda. Instead, it will be a treat when we go out. No more soda in the house for me! Which leads me to…

stay hydrated-1

Staying hydrated! I know I don’t drink enough water. This has always been a struggle for me. But it’s important to choose water rather than drinking sugary drinks and sodas. Water doesn’t have any calories and it can fill you up. Drinking up to 6 ½ cups of water a day can actually help you burn an extra 200 calories per day. It also helps flush fats from your system so drinking it instead of carbonated beverages is a win-win choice.

Making positive changes to your diet is the best New Year’s resolution you’ll ever make!
