This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Tonight, at our monthly PTA meeting, there was a lot of talk about our Giving Tree initiative and the donations that are pouring in. Our school has a dynamic makeup spanning the gamut of socio economic levels. While we have quite a bit of families that need a little help (especially during the holiday), there are many families that are looking for ways to give back.

One donation that I tend to forget about is pajamas. More often than not, we get caught up in the gift giving aspect of the holidays and forget about the essentials that children (and their parents) need every single day. But the realization is that there are children that have never experienced the simple joy of wearing new pajamas.

For the seventh year, Pajama Program and Carter’s are collaborating to provide comfort and literacy to children in group homes, shelters, and other temporary living situations. For millions of children in America, the need for intimacy and bonding with their parents in a safe and caring environment goes unmet. They arrive at shelters with nothing of their own. The simple act of giving a book and new pajamas can make the world of a difference to a child.

And it’s super easy for you to get involved.

Carter’s will be accepting pajama donations in-store throughout the remainder of the year (12/31). Monetary donations can also be made online and will be used to provide more books and pajamas in your local community, as well as to help build reading centers around the country.

And they are raising the stakes this year! On Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, Carter’s will match all pajama donations up to 100,000, both in-store and online! Find your local store HERE.
