This year will be my fourth year going to Toy Fair in New York City. It’s always a great time: checking out the latest and greatest toys, catching up with friends, playing…without the kids. But this year, it’s all about to change.

New for 2016 is Play FairOn February 13 and 14, New York City’s Javits Center North will welcome the first-ever Play Fair, a celebration of play and entertainment for kids—and parents—of all ages. The inaugural event, hosted by the Toy Industry Association (TIA) and LeftField Media, will offer families and toy collectors the opportunity to enjoy a weekend in New York and experience an interactive, fun-packed event with presenting sponsors LEGO Systems and Nickelodeon, as well as other toy and family brands, including Mattel, Hasbro, Warner Bros. Pictures, Crayola, Toys “R” Us, and of course, the Toy Insider!

The boys are going to flip! They are always mad at me for getting to go to Toy Fair without them and bombard me at the door with questions and wanting to see pictures. Now, we can make it a family affair. While they can’t go with me to the Toy Fair floor, they can spend a few hours playing and checking out toys as well!

Attendees will get to check out the newest toys before they are released in stores, and get hands-on with fun, interactive experiences. For example, kids and adults can build their own LEGO car and race down a ramp against other LEGO builders. Plus, kids will enjoy live performances and photo opps with their favorite characters, like Spongebob and the pups from Paw Patrol. AND DC fans will get to scope out the Batmobile from Warner Bros. Pictures’ highly anticipated film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which will be on display.

Wanna go? Tickets start at $30 per session at this ticket page, but there are also family packages where you can attend one or more sessions throughout the weekend.  Morning sessions run from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. ET, and afternoon sessions are open from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET. Or pick up a VIP Weekend Experience Pass for $145, which includes priority admission to all four sessions and a collectible exclusive Play Fair vinyl figure.
