It’s that wonderful time of year when everyone seems to be under the weather…myself included. My entire family has been battling some kind of sickness in one form or another over the past week and now it’s finally my turn. When I’m sick, I crave all things soup. It warms you up and just makes you feel better.

Maybe it has to do with childhood nostalgia. When you would stay home from school and your mom (or dad or grandmom) would make you a bowl of soup, tuck you in on the couch, and place a washcloth on your head.

But there are so many good health benefits of eating soup when you are sick. When down and out with the cold or flu, fluids are important. And what better way to get some fluids in then with some homemade soup.

You don’t have to be sick to enjoy these soups — they are good any time! From homemade chicken noodle soup to  hearty tomato soup,  here are the best soups for your next sick day!
